IMPOSSIBLE BURGER AT WHITE CASTLE: REVIEW

Just a few days ago Impossible Foods, the vegan “meat” brand, made an announcement.  This announcement was that the food chain White Castle would begin carrying one of their products nationwide!  This product is the “Impossible Slider” and it sells for just $1.99 at all White Castle locations.  As a long time vegetarian but ex-burger lover, I found this news to be very exciting!  Immediately I found the closest White Castle location to me (not too far) and made plans to go with my dad.  He isn’t a vegetarian but he is open minded and was also down to try this new plant-based product.  We ordered 4 of the sliders (without cheese to make them vegan) and added ketchup and mustard.

Now for the taste-test:  I have to be honest – they weren’t amazing, but they were pretty good.  It was slightly dry and there was hardly and ketchup and mustard on them (which didn’t help), but overall they were decent. They do not have the strongest flavor and I wouldn’t go as far to compare them to real meat, but I love that this is a viable option.  I was also happy to see that they sell them at such a fair price.  I would get them again and my dad agreed that he would as well.

So that’s the consensus!  If you are a vegetarian/vegan looking a quick bite to eat- this is a great option for you!  Personally, I am not a huge fan of fast food but I  love that vegetarian/vegan products are becoming more accessible for so many people.  If you try this or any other of Impossible Food’s products, let me know what you think in the comments!
